Code of Conduct
Our commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and affirming space for trans creators
The Coven, as a queer and trans-centered space, wishes to uphold a culture of respect, consent, care and mutual support. The following behaviors are the minimal expectations of those participating in the space.
Our Expectations
Respect All Identities
- › Respect all identities, pronouns, names, and boundaries
- › Use correct pronouns and names as shared by individuals
- › Honor personal boundaries and consent in all interactions
Practice Active Consent
- › Obtain explicit consent before touching others, their equipment, or projects
- › Respect "no" or any hesitation as a complete answer
- › Understand that consent can be withdrawn at any time
Maintain a Safe Space
- › Avoid discriminatory, harassing, or demeaning behavior
- › Take responsibility for harm, regardless of intent
- › Maintain a clean and organized space
- › Report safety concerns immediately to founders
Address Conflicts Constructively
- › Address conflicts in good faith and seek consensus
- › Approach disagreements with a willingness to listen
- › Support mediation and restorative approaches
Support Mutual Aid
- › Share knowledge and skills freely within the community
- › Help fellow members when they're learning or struggling
- › Contribute to the collective wellbeing of the space
- › Recognize that we grow stronger through cooperation
Unacceptable Behaviors
The following behaviors are considered violations and may result in warnings, suspension, or removal:
Reporting Violations
If safe to do so, address the behavior directly using "I" statements
Contact a founder privately to report the incident
Document what happened: time, location, witnesses, and specific behaviors
Founders will follow the Disruptive Member Policy review process
All reports are taken seriously and handled with discretion
Retaliation Prohibition
Retaliation against anyone who reports a Code of Conduct violation in good faith is strictly prohibited and will be treated as a separate violation.
A Living Document
This Code of Conduct may be updated as our community grows. Founders will review and update this policy periodically with input from members when appropriate.
