Equipment Policies

Acquisition & Approval

  • All equipment brought into the space requires founder approval.
  • Founders may store personal equipment in the space.
  • Members may bring personal equipment with founder approval.
  • Equipment purchased with community funds becomes property of The Coven.

Usage & Safety

  • Use of any tool requires basic orientation and owner sign-off.
  • Shared equipment must include a documented crash course and owner approval before use.
  • Members are responsible for cleaning up after themselves and reporting issues.
  • Consumables (filament, fabric, components) start as bring-your-own. Shared purchasing systems may be implemented as the community grows.

Maintenance & Repair

  • Maintenance and repair of shared equipment is funded by community vote.
  • Equipment owners are encouraged to provide basic training for shared use.
  • Founders maintain authority over equipment safety and suitability for the space.

Storage & Organization

  • Founders may store equipment and personal projects.
  • Members receive an assigned cubby for personal items.
  • Shared tools should be returned to their designated locations after use.

Safety First

All equipment use must comply with our Code of Conduct and safety practices. Founders retain authority to restrict or prohibit equipment that poses safety risks or undermines our mission as a queer-centered creative space.
